Thanks, y'all for great Jewish Food Festival In competitive districts that weren't gerrymandered for particular incumbents, voters spoke loud and clear that they expect representatives of both parties to set aside their party affiliation and instead focus on working together for the common interests of our country (and actually be on the job to work). The real winner this past election cycle was the spirit of democracy. House Republicans stifled debate and ran the House in a very un-democratic, autocratic style that sought more to demogague the issues as opposed to actually get much accomplished. Identifying as a Republican, the way Congress has been run over the past couple of years was not demonstrative of the ideals of our democracy. Can you imagine if you had a job and only showed up for work 99 days out of the year? Would your boss promote you? I think not. I agree with him that people understand that this past Congress didn't accomplish very much while in session in fact, they weren't in session very much at all. Thank you for Professor Daugherty's perspective on the reasons Republicans lost control of Congress. Sure, in the long run, widening the road will have advantages, but if the project starts soon, Savannah better be ready for a huge headache. For instance, when is the "beautiful" underground parking garage with the city park going to be complete? I believe the city of Savannah needs to finish other construction projects before they begin on this huge one.
That would mean I would have to dodge traffic from the construction on Abercorn and on Highway 17 by Wal-mart. If the project breaks ground soon, then my ride home will be extra long.
However, my complaint for widening the road is that the Department of Transportation workers tend to move at a mortal pace. In the long run, making Abercorn Extension wider would be beneficial because when accidents occur, the highway would be bigger than one lane. Just about everyday there is another incident of people following too close.
However, a lot of the traffic has to do with people in Savannah not knowing how to drive. I currently travel down Abercorn Extension on my way home, and to be honest the traffic is terrible between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. Lankford done anything to reduce the abortion rate? My life's work is giving women a better choice than abortion. The truth is that: A) The vast majority of abortions are just an extreme form of contraception, and B) About two-thirds of Americans support outlawing such abortions. "What about the girl or lady that gets raped and forced to have that child?"Īccording to Planned Parenthood's own research, less than 1 percent of abortions are sought because of rape or incest. Lankford do that? Or would she expect the girl to get an abortion? Would she actually give pregnant teenagers a "choice," or just an ultimatum? Has she ever volunteered in a crisis pregnancy center to help women choose life instead of abortion? (Many such volunteers have had abortions themselves and don't want others to make the same mistake.) "Have you opened your home to a pregnant teenager whose parents kicked her out of their house?" Lankford ever counseled a young woman not to consent to sex if she isn't prepared to parent a child? "Have you volunteered to babysit for a single mother who is either going to school or work?"
